Table Description:  This table contains a transcription of every Williams household found in the 1790 Federal Census. Although I have made every effort to transcribe as correctly as possible, I am not perfect. I do make mistakes and make the following suggestions. First, when in doubt, double check against the actual records. Second, if you find a mistake, please let me know so that I can correct it.

You will notice that there are no census records listed for Virginia for 1790 As most of you know, these records were destroyed by the British during the War of 1812. Generally speaking, most folks refer to the tax lists to help reconstruct this census.

A number of original census pages have been damaged or destroyed and only indices exist. For the sake of being thorough, I have included the indices here and when the record itself cannot be found or read, I've indicated this in each unreadable column with "n/a".

Name of Table:  Williams' found in the Dawes Rolls (View Records!)
Table Description:  The Dawes Rolls - (Final Rolls of the Citizens and Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes in Indian Territory) - The Dawes Rolls, also known as the "Final Rolls", are the lists of individuals who were accepted as eligible for tribal membership in the "Five Civilized Tribes": Cherokees, Creeks, Choctaws, Chickasaws, and Seminoles. (It does not include those whose applications were stricken, rejected or judged as doubtful.) Those found eligible for the Final Rolls were entitled to an allotment of land, usually as a homestead.
